| Note Basics: Naming the Notes | | |
| | |  | | There are only 12 notes on the guitar. These 12 notes are repeated in higher pitched octaves. 7 of the notes are named simply as A through G. These notes are displayed in the picture above. |

| | | Tip: There is not a note between B and C or a note between E and F. To help remember these exceptions, use the reminder "Boulder Colorado" and "Eagles Fly" |
